How Nathan and Mommy met

On Sat night right before story time, mommy asked the boy how the two of them met. Nathan had trouble in articulating an answer so mommy assisted him. Here it is:
He used to have superpower when he was a baby. One day he flew into our apartment, saw mommy and asked "Can I stay with you?" and mommy said "Yes".

Protection Mommy

Before Daddy went away on a business trip, the boy told Daddy that if bad people came to the house, he would "punch them in the face and die them"

meeting Mommy's husband

Mommy and the boy were at a restaurant waiting for daddy. The boy heard mommy telling the waittress that she was waiting for her husband but would like to order the food for the two of them first. The boy interrupted and said, "I want to meet your husband too"

Fire-breathing Dragon

Nathan has the habit of saying the following in public washrooms:
"Daddy, Look at my fire-breathing dragon. Smoke is coming out."

Being Responsible

"If you drop something on the floor, you have to pick it up. That's responsible, right? "

"Mommy, you don't go downstairs without me, that's not responsible"

amazing

Mommy lined up Nathan's toy car, the boy's response "Mommy, you are pretty amazing".

Hung Kei Fat Choy

The daycare celebrates Chinese New Year every year. Nathan is the only Chinese kid in his class and mommy wants Nathan to be able to say a few Chinese New Year things like "Hung Kei Fat Choy". Each time, the boy would respond "I can't speak in Spanish, it is too hard"

Nathan Phillips Square

When Nathan's girlfriend, Miriam, found out that her Sunday school class was taking the kids skating at Nathan Phillips Square, she looked at her mom right in the eyes and said "Mommy we are going to my boyfriend's square"

Uncle David

Uncle David came and stayed with us for a few days during Christmas. During those few days,
the boy loved following uncle David everywhere he went, he was always saying "uncle David this" and "Uncle David that". He was also hyper most of the time when David was around, he even called James "Uncle Daddy".

What's that smell?

Daddy told Nathan for a subway ride. They stood right in front of a Bell poster and next to a woman who was wearing pretty strong perfume.

Nathan: What's that smell? oh I know it is the smell of the beaver.

Daddy managed to keep a straight face for the entire trip.

It's Mine!

Book Description at the back: It's mine! demonstrates that children can learn to share if they are assured they have the right to say "no", and if that right is respected.

Sounds like a good book for a toddler who needs to learn about sharing...

The boy had a great time having his haircut. He kept saying "I am handsome now" and kept trying to leave the chair.

Mommy had one hand in her pocket. The boy asked "is that your penis?"

Mommy: Good night Naye Naye, don't let the bed bugs bite
The Boy: Don't let the tiger eat your whole body

Taking risk

While Daddy was watching his favourite Home & Garden television show, the boy marched into the room and turned the TV off. He then turned to Daddy with a grin and said "Am I a dead boy now?".

Aggressive Behaviour - Part II

The boy knows very well that hitting people is bad.
"No, I am not hitting mommy, I am just drumming her"

Being Silly

Nathan and daddy were playing castle and having some nice conversation:


The Boy: you know, you are silly sometimes.... me too.
Daddy: Is mommy silly sometimes?
The Boy: No

Aggressive Behaviour

Mommy had a discussion with the boy about hiting others that he should not hit anyone under any circumstances.

The boy: "I want to hit myself"
Mommy: No, you shouldn't hit yourself either"
The boy: "I really want to, I want to be a gorilla!"

Sobina

Mommy went to her office to pick up some dry cleaning. The boy and daddy had a nice father and son chat in the car.

Boy: I want to get out and see Sobina.
Daddy: Today is Saturday, Sobina is not in the office.
Boy: Where is she?
Daddy: She is with her boyfriend.
Boy: with her boyfriend, what is his name?
Daddy: Hanif
Boy: what are Sobina and Hanif doing?
Daddy: what do you think?
Boy: Playing Thomas.

Bad Boy

I feel sad when I am a bad boy.


A week later, he said the same thing again....

"I really really feel bad when I am a bad boy. Do you have any popsicles? that will make me feel better"
